Sustainable Agriculture and Agribusiness Value Chain Development
One of the basic reasons for the formation of GCI is to aid in sustainable agriculture development practices and agribusiness value chain development. Promotion of sustainable agriculture practices will be achieved through the deployment of extension services; the introduction of seed system programme; soil health policy and partnership; technology transfer partnerships; market access and entrepreneurship. We provide the necessary supports and inputs in the form of technical, advisory, financial assistance to motivate the youth into agro-oriented businesses.
02
Sustainable Green Projects Development
GCI believes in low-resource approaches in order to ensure sustainability of local solutions. We are involved in designing and initiating community-based sustainable development projects, interventions with measureable positive outcomes. We support the promotion and the adoption of affordable latrine technology options; small irrigation projects, community water projects; affordable solar and renewable energy projects. We do this by providing community livelihood strategies; sustainable lifestyles; safe living habits and healthy ecosystems; clean air and water; etc.
03
Sustainable Education and Training Programmes
GCI believes through education and training we have the potential to improve Africa’s sustainable development and green development efforts. This can be achieved by collectively and collaboratively working with the communities, employing local staff, and offering skills development courses. We promote integration of green content into our educational curriculum from basic level to the tertiary level. We offer short courses and training programmes on sustainable development and green content for individuals and corporate bodies. We also embark on strategic advocacy and campaigns on sustainable development and green development.
