Ing. David Mensah Sackey is currently a Ph.D. candidate Electrical Engineering at FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. He was a research associate with the Europa-Universität Flensburg-Germany. Prior to this he was an assistant lecturer at Ho Technical University and a was the VP of Membership for IEEE Smart Village-USA. He holds an MSc. in Energy and Sustainable Management and a BSc. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Ghana. He holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Economical, Engineering, and Political Transition of Energy Systems from TU Berlin Germany, and a Certificate in Solution for a Changing Planet with Distinction from the Sustainable Development Academy-USA.
He is a member of several professional bodies including the European Energy Centre (MEEI), the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE-PES). David is a an astute Electrical Engineer, project manager of Energy systems and Telecommunication. He has several years of professional experience. Professionally, David has received several awards amongst which are the prestigious EDF Climate Fellow 2024, Best Project Manager-Networks, Best Innovative Engineer, and Best Network Designer.
Internationally, David has received the Highly Competitive Awards from TU Berlin Germany: The Most Outstanding Candidate Presidential Scholarship 2018. David is currently the Secretary to the Smart Village Steering Committee and serves on several voluntary Committees within Smart Village and the Ghana Institution of Engineering. David is also a researcher, and a sustainable energy consultant, he has published several papers and presented several papers at international conferences in Ghana, Nigeria, Germany, and South Korea.
